da Vinci^® ... Changing the Experience of Surgery at York Hospital

Through the York Hospital Robotic Surgery Program, WellSpan has coupled the leading-edge technology of two da Vinci® Surgical Systems with highly skilled surgeons and clinical staff to offer residents of south central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland a minimally invasive alternative to major surgery.  In existence for more than 19 months, the program currently benefits patients in need of treatment for certain cardiac, gynecologic (benign), gynecologic oncology, thoracic and general conditions and has twelve surgeons trained in robotic-assisted surgery.

The da Vinci® Surgical System itself is a sophisticated robotic platform designed to enable complex surgery using a minimally invasive approach.
