Vice President and Chief Medical Information Officer, WellSpan Health
Dr. Nicholson joined WellSpan Health as chief medical information officer in 2011. In this capacity, he has responsibility for the implementation and provider adoption of clinical information systems in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. He also oversees health information management and clinical applications for WellSpan. Additionally, he practices hospitalist medicine at WellSpan York Hospital.
Dr. Nicholson completed his undergraduate studies at Lock Haven University and received his medical degree from the University of Maryland. He completed his internship/residency in internal medicine at WellSpan York Hospital and then practiced medicine in South Carolina as part of the National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program.
When he returned to York, Dr. Nicholson rejoined WellSpan as a hospitalist and led the institution’s electronic health record implementation and clinical transformation, leading projects such as computerized order entry and physician documentation across WellSpan’s multiple acute care facilities.
This search will provide you with WellSpan Medical Group and Northern Lancaster County (Ephrata) Medical Group primary care physicians and specialists. If we don’t have a WellSpan Medical Group physician to meet your criteria, the search will expand to include community physicians who partner with WellSpan Medical Group physicians through the WellSpan Provider Network or provide care to patients on the Medical Staffs of WellSpan’s Hospitals.×

If you already have a relationship with a WellSpan practice, simply log into your account, and go to the Appointment Center section. As you progress through the scheduling process, you will be able to schedule an appointment with any provider or practice that already counts you as a patient.
