Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Bruce A. Solomon became WellSpan Health’s executive vice president and chief operating officer in January 2014. In this role, he focuses on strategies that enhance operational performance, teamwork, quality of care and growth in programs across WellSpan’s local systems of care in Adams County, Lancaster County and York County. He works with system leaders to increase efficiencies, reduce costs and promote coordinated care among the organization’s four hospitals and ambulatory services and facilities.
A health care executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience, Mr. Solomon previously served as a senior advisor with BDC Advisors, a national health care strategy consulting firm that serves major health care systems, academic medical centers, health plans and large physician groups.
Prior to joining BDC Advisors in 2011, Mr. Solomon served as chief operating officer of Stony Brook University Medical Center, a 591-bed academic medical center and Level 1 Trauma Center on Long Island, N.Y. His career has also included senior-level positions at Harvard Medical International, Boston, where he oversaw the start-up of a 400-bed university teaching hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and Cambridge Health Alliance, Cambridge, Mass., where he served in a variety of roles including chief operating officer, senior vice president of hospital clinical services, chief administrative officer of the physician organization, and hospital associate chief operating officer
Mr. Solomon holds master’s degrees in public health and business administration from Tulane University and a bachelor’s degree from Roanoke College in Salem, Va. He and his wife, Dr. Joan Lebow, have three children.
This search will provide you with WellSpan Medical Group and Northern Lancaster County (Ephrata) Medical Group primary care physicians and specialists. If we don’t have a WellSpan Medical Group physician to meet your criteria, the search will expand to include community physicians who partner with WellSpan Medical Group physicians through the WellSpan Provider Network or provide care to patients on the Medical Staffs of WellSpan’s Hospitals.×
