Map and driving directions
Our warehouse is open on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to Noon to accept your book donations. The warehouse is located at 203 Dewey Street in West York. Please see the information below about types of books we accept.
A book collection box is also available at two additional community locations: WellSpan York Hospital in the parking garage stairwell, and First Capital Federal Credit Union on Kenneth Road. If you have a large amount of books, we ask that you bring them to the warehouse location rather than overloading the community drop boxes.
And many thanks for your generous donations, which help make this sale successful each year!
We accept paperbacks and hardbacks that are in good used or new condition. We also accept DVDs, CDs, and puzzles. Please note that we no longer accept the following types of books:
Even though we do not take National Geographics, encyclopedias, older reference books or textbooks, we know of another area group that will take them. Please call (717) 880-9402 or (717) 225-4487 for more information.
We get lots of questions about what happens to the books at the end of each year's sale. Any books that are unsold are removed at the end of the sale by a local charity agency and used for other purposes. During the year, we work with the York Rescue Mission, and we recycle at our warehouse every week. We are pleased to work with another area charity to make sure that all materials that cannot be used for the sale are used by another organization to benefit the community.
Many thanks to the following organizations for their sponsor support:
The York Hospital Auxiliary gives many small grants within WellSpan to assist with programs and equipment. This year's proceeds will be used for the Auxiliary Small Grant Program.
SAFE Nurses are specially trained professionals who understand the delicate nature of abuse against children. They perform the exams; make recommendations or referrals for further treatment and caregiver support groups. They provide hope and healing to these patients and their families. They are an extraordinary team of healthcare providers who offer an incredible service to our must vulnerable victims of abuse.
This search will provide you with WellSpan Medical Group and Northern Lancaster County (Ephrata) Medical Group primary care physicians and specialists. If we don’t have a WellSpan Medical Group physician to meet your criteria, the search will expand to include community physicians who partner with WellSpan Medical Group physicians through the WellSpan Provider Network or provide care to patients on the Medical Staffs of WellSpan’s Hospitals.×
