About the Double Creek Event: The Double Creek was established to provide support to programs that benefit underinsured kids and the families who provide care for them. All money raised will benefit the Healthy Community Pharmacy. The Pharmacy serves uninsured or underinsured patients from all over our community. It provides medications to eligible patients at cost plus a small dispensing fee.

In many cases, uninsured or underinsured patients may have access to a doctor and a diagnosis, but may not have the financial ability to pay for prescribed medications. Without these medications to complete treatments, simple illnesses become more acute and chronic. More severe illnesses result in longer recoveries, additional treatments, and even hospitalizations.

Last year more than 3,700 patients were assisted by this fund in paying for life sustaining medications. With your help, we hope to help far more.

The event will be held on Saturday, June 20th, 2015.

    30, 48 or 62 Mile Bike Tour

Bicycle riders will enjoy the scenic and lightly traveled roads of York and Adams counties. You will enjoy green stretches of farmland, rustic bridges, and country churches while riding along the Conewago and Bermudian creeks for which the ride was named.

The route for this event will be punctuated by three rest stops. Healthy refreshments will be available at all of these stops, and a celebratory brunch will mark the end of the tour.

Since it’s beginning, the event has experienced remarkable growth, thanks in large part to the generosity of the community and participants like yourself.

For more detailed information about the Double Creek Tour, please contact Mirriam Jefferson at 717-851-3029.

    5K or Half Marathon Run

The Double Creek Run takes up the legacy of an important event that was carried on at the Hospital Fete for more than 25 years. Many steps have been taken to ensure that it has kept as much of its identity and individuality as possible.

The route for this event will be punctuated by frequent water/sport drink/gel stands. A celebratory brunch will mark the end of the run. Men's and Women's Awards will be given to top finishers in 13 age groupings.

To keep everyone safe on all running routes, we ask that you do not bring animals to the event.

    Endurance Challenge

Participants in the Endurance Challenge will participate in the half marathon, followed by the 30 mile bike ride.  The fee for the Endurance Challenge covers both events.

    Fun Run:

The Fun Run is a one mile event held on the same course as the 5K and half marathon events. Held immediately following the 5K, this event is for children or those who prefer a shorter run.

    Walk:

The Walk is a three mile route held on the 5K route. Walkers are encouraged to walk the entire course at a comfortable pace. Jogging strollers are permitted.

Double Creek will provide the following amenities to participants:

    • 5 Water/Gatorade stations for Half Marathon.
    • Three Rest Stops along Cycle Route, which include food and other refreshments.

If we don’t have a WellSpan Medical Group physician to meet your criteria, the search will expand to include community physicians who partner with WellSpan Medical Group physicians through the WellSpan Provider Network or provide care to patients on the Medical Staffs of WellSpan’s Hospitals.
