It is a vital part of the hospital’s mission and has played a leading role in making WellSpan York Hospital one of the best community hospitals in the nation. Rapidly changing technology, new industry standards, increased healthcare costs, and a stronger focus on training efficiency call for ongoing commitment to the advancement of medical education.
That is why a new Education through Simulation Fund has been established. The fund will further WellSpan York Hospital’s commitment to experiential learning through advanced medical simulation – helping the hospital continue its tradition of attracting the “best and brightest” to our community, enhancing the region in so many ways.

WellSpan York Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Fund
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at WellSpan York Hospital is a leader in caring for fragile babies and families in their time of need. Your support of the NICU Fund will expand our ability to provide the best possible care and treatment of our youngest warriors. Gifts support many aspects of neonatal care, including the expansion of the NICU, the purchase of specific supplies and equipment, support for parent activities or special needs, and clinical programs.
WellSpan York Hospital Angel Eye Project
Help friends and neighbors stay connected to their newborns! The Angel Eye Camera System allows parents to view their babies anytime by logging into a secure website. Your gift to the Angel Eye Project will give parents the gift of being there even when they can’t be physically present.

When medication costs become insurmountable:
Prescription for caring (PFC) provides prescription payment assistance for those who need it most.
Imagine if you had to choose between buying groceries or paying for your medication or if you were forced to take half-doses of a needed medication to make your prescription last longer. These scenarios represent a reality for many individuals in York County. They make difficult choices every day about whether or not they can pay for their medication.
Established by the Healthy Community Network, a WellSpan led collaboration of community partners working to improve access to health care services for community members in need, PFF helps people get their vital medications and stay healthy.

Where to direct your donation
WellSpan York Health Foundation encourages donations to a wide variety of funds that support the charitable programs and initiatives of WellSpan Health in York County. Below is a list of some of the funds you can direct your donation to. If you have questions about any of these funds or to learn about other giving opportunities, please contact philanthropy@wellspan.org or (717) 851-3595.
- Where it is Needed Most: Donations that are unrestricted serve a great deal of importance as they go to support many needs both larger and smaller in scale.
- Cancer Patient Help Fund: Provides assistance with daily living expenses (i.e., rent, utilities, food) for cancer patients while they are undergoing treatment.
- WellSpan Patient Help Fund: Provides patients who are overwhelmed by their circumstance and health issues the ability to take the first step in managing their health.
