WellSpan York Hospital Emergency Department Redesign

WellSpan York Hospital New Emergency Department Rendering

The WellSpan York Health Foundation is committed to supporting the current Emergency Department Redesign project. Through the generosity of the community we look to support the general project as well as the behavioral health, pediatrics, and cardiovascular units of the Emergency Department.

To date the WellSpan York Health Foundation has raised $2.9 million towards this project.

Community Health Endowment

The Community Health Endowment will go to support the following community health needs and programs:

  • WellSpan Community Health Center and OB/GYN Clinic
  • Hoodner and Bentzel Dental Centers
  • Healthy Community Network 
  • Community Health Improvement initiatives (i.e. SafeKids, For Heart’s Sake)
  • Other community health efforts prompted by Community Needs Assessment

WellSpan Patient Assistance Fund

The WellSpan Patient Help Fund is a tool to help patients, often overwhelmed by their circumstance and health issues to take the first step in managing their health.

It's a compassionate response to aid patients with the greatest needs as they transition home from the hospital or outpatient facility after an illness or injury. The fund is used as  a bridging tool to help a patient better engage in managing his/her health. The fund provides:

• Transportation costs to and from appointments.
• Durable medical equipment.
• Medication co-pays.
• Equipment that will help patients avoid readmission to the hospital.

Where to direct your donation

WellSpan York Health Foundation encourages donations to a wide variety of funds that support the charitable programs and initiatives of WellSpan Health in York County. Below is a list of some of the funds you can direct your donation to. If you have questions about any of these funds or to learn about other giving opportunities, please contact philanthropy@wellspan.org or (717) 851-3595.

  • Where it is Needed Most: Donations that are unrestricted serve a great deal of importance as they go to support many needs both larger and smaller in scale.
  • Cancer Patient Help Fund: Provides assistance with daily living expenses (i.e., rent, utilities, food) for cancer patients while they are undergoing treatment.
  • WellSpan Patient Help Fund: Provides patients who are overwhelmed by their circumstance and health issues the ability to take the first step in managing their health.
  • WellSpan York Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
  • WellSpan York Hospital Pediatrics
  • WellSpan VNA Home Health
  • WellSpan York Hospital Medical Education
  • WellSpan York Hospital Emergency Services/Trauma

About the provider search

This search will provide you with WellSpan Medical Group and Northern Lancaster County (Ephrata) Medical Group primary care physicians and specialists. If we don’t have a WellSpan Medical Group physician to meet your criteria, the search will expand to include community physicians who partner with WellSpan Medical Group physicians through the WellSpan Provider Network or provide care to patients on the Medical Staffs of WellSpan’s Hospitals.

If you don't have a WellSpan primary care provider and would like to schedule a new patient appointment with a provider who is accepting patients, just log into your MyWellSpan account, and go to the Appointment Center section. As you progress through the scheduling process, you will be able to see the offices that are accepting new patients in relation to your zip code. If you are not enrolled in MyWellSpan, go to https://my.wellspan.org, call 1-866-638-1842 or speak with a member of the staff at a participating facility to sign up. New patient scheduling not available at all practices/programs.

Already a patient at this practice?

If you already have a relationship with a WellSpan practice, simply log into your account, and go to the Appointment Center section. As you progress through the scheduling process, you will be able to schedule an appointment with any provider or practice that already counts you as a patient. Online scheduling varies by practice/program.
