In 2009, WellSpan partnered with Family First Health to establish a federally qualified health center (FQHC) in Gettysburg. The FQHC provides primary health care services to uninsured and underinsured residents, which accounts for 15 percent of the county's population. The community health center accepts nearly all insurance plans, including Medical Assistance and Medicare. Individuals who do not have insurance may receive care at a reduced fee which is based on income.
With a long-standing goal of creating healthy and vibrant communities, WellSpan partners with individuals and organizations to assess local needs, build community assets and sponsor initiatives.
